How to Help Children Manage Their Emotions

Brilliant! Awesome! So sweet!

The sweet and wise child in the video below has learned something exceptionally powerful – the power of his choice about his emotions.

Wonderfully loving Mom in this video. Kudos to the parents or whoever taught this language to him.

Guidance on this exact point comes up for every child that I’ve supported, but we can all learn from this.

The only exception is that I hear the child call himself “wrong”. That self-perception can be highly damaging for a child to take on because it’s a self-judgment and feeds limited polarity thinking. However, the black-and-white paradigm MIGHT be age appropriate. The alternative might be to say “I made an unhealthy choice”.
